Steam’s archrival Epic Games Store shared details of how it tore things apart in 2019. The company’s blog post included the countries with the most active users along with the revenue generated.
In a blog post shared today, Epic Games Store announced the other achievements of the platform, with the news that it will continue to distribute free games in 2020. According to Epic’s share, millions of players using the platform spent $680 million in 2019.
Of the $680 million that Epic Games earned, 215 million were spent on third-party video games. This is probably because Fortnite is still the main source of revenue for Epic Games. According to some reports, Fortnite generated $1.8 billion in revenue in 2019. However, the number of games purchased for free from the platform was announced as more than 200 million.
